In
brief from the CCH-FSCAA Board of Directors...
August
26th, 2005 -- CCH-FSCAA - Meeting with
Prof. Jacques Desravines on the
scholarship issue
On
August 26, 2005, the Board of
Directors of the CCH-FSCAA, Inc. represented
by its president Dr.
Karl Dormesy,
its treasurer Mario Deller and one
of its public relations agents Dr.
Jean-Marie Desrosiers,
met with Professor Jacques
Desravines from Haiti.
Prof. Desravines is also a special advisor to the
Board.
It was a very productive meeting
that lasted about two hours. The order of the
day was the setting of guidelines and procedures
governing the awarding of scholarships to students
attending the Brothers of
the Sacred Heart schools.
It was agreed that the program would start with
beneficiaries from the College Canado-Haitien,
covering both the academic and technical sections,
before being extended in the near future to other
institutions of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart.
The conditions of eligibility and the selection
criteria of prospective candidates were set.
They will be publicized in a variety of ways
at the school. One of the prospective alternatives
to do so is via the booklet published by Canado
entitled "Guide
de l'étudiant". Mentioning
the conditions of eligibility and the selection
criteria in this booklet will ensure instant
awareness to the school population.
A formal letter will be sent by the CCH-FSCAA,
Inc. to the Provincial Director Brother Joseph
Alexandre S.C. and the Provincial
Advisory Board requesting their approval
and their cooperation toward making this noble
endeavor a success.
The CCH-FSCAA, Inc. continues to work tirelessly
toward achieving its goal which is to INSPIRE,
EDUCATE, SHARE AND FACILITATE.

Five

interview concerning the existence of the association.
Mr. Edens Desbas brilliantly
hosted the hour long session with a series
of questions and comments geared toward acquainting
the auditors with CCH-FSCAA's goals and ongoing
activities. The
Board members who represented CCH-FSCAA on that
important occasion were our president Dr.
Karl Dormésy,
Ronald César,
Gérald
Jean, Mario Charles
and Dr. Jean-Marie Desrosiers.
March
2005 --
Dr.

again visited the Canado-Haitian College establishment.
He spent some quality time with Brother

December
4th, 2004 -- Promo 73's Celebration
Dr.
Jean-Marie Desrosiers,
as usual, did an outstanding job updating us
about Promo '73 celebration and other happenings.
We, on our part, are always full of anticipation
to listen to his briefings. The traveling Jean-Marie
does a tremendous job, in person, linking our
different chapters (USA, Canada and Haiti so
far). Thanks Jean-Marie for your initiatives.
During his visit in Haiti, Jean-Marie also acted
on the opportunity to meet and talk with current
Brothers of Sacred Heart officials namely Brother
Superior Joseph Alexandre, S.C. who
is the Provincial Director of Brothers of the
Sacred Heart in Haiti,
Brother Fritz Casséus, S.C.,
Director of Canado-Haitian College's Technical
Section and
Prof. Jacques Desravines. The
talk's topics included how we at CCH-FSCAA and
they can establish a certain connection in order
to effectively arrive at the positive
difference we are all looking for. The photos
below captured moments of that visit. |

The
most significant results obtained by the committees
were as follows:
(1)
Since
the mega-event (General Assembly) organized by the CCH-FSCAA
commitee on April 25th 2004, at the church of Saint
Boniface (Long Island), the CCH-FSCAA continued to multiply
its efforts in order to organize more events of that
nature. Our chief goal is to promote, at the early stage,
the level of excellence within the Canado-Haitian College
and the other Brothers of the Sacred-Heart schools as
well. At a later point in time, the goal will extend
to include all other schools in Haiti because "tant
vaut l'ecole, tant vaut la nation".

The
CCH-FSCAA is presently recognized by the State of
New York. Our official date of creation is July 19th,
2004. (See the Bylaws
section of this website)

The
active participation of CCH-FSCAA U.S.A at the celebrations
in honor of Frère Jean Laliberté, S.C.
as a sign of gratitude to him for his 53 years of educational
services in Haiti. The event took place last August
14th in Montreal, Canada. The Board of Directors in
Canada achieved an enormous and commendable milestone.
They utilized the opportunity to announce the creation
of awards that will be given to teachers and students
on an annual basis. They are the following:
Jean
Laliberté Awards:
to the Teacher of the Year who will be recognized for
his Excellence in teaching at the Canado-Haitian College
and/or the Brothers of the Sacred-Heart schools.
Jacques
Desravines Award: for a student's
Excellence in the Sciences.
Wesner
Emmanuel Award: for a student's
Excellence in Literature.
As
funds augment, the Association will figure out other
categories for awards distribution such as Sports Award,
Arts Award etc.

A
plan of action has been established to increase the
number of members and friends of CCH-FSCAA. We take
the opportunity to thank each of you who have already
sent your annual contribution. We invite those of you
who have not yet done so not to delay too long since
we're well into our current fiscal year. As we all know,
money constitutes not only the nerve center of every
war, it also constitutes the nerve center of everything
else especially on the constructive end of the spectrum.
Please fill the membership form and return it with your
enclosed check at the provided address.
The needs are urgent and monumental at this time. In
addition, the means have not yet reached the adequacy
level for this particular period. We count on you to
update your membership.
Furthermore, if you wish to make a separate donation,
you can do so by clicking on the Contribute
link.

Work
is in progress at CCH-FSCAA towards getting its own
website up to speed. When it is reasonably functional,
we'll see you online. This, of course, will facilitate
better exchange of information. The quality and frequency
of interaction among all of us members will definitely
take us to the next level.
